Just get together and say you want to race. Put a buoy out there and race for something as simple as pizza and a beer. It can go from there to world cup racing.

The Gorge Juniors Racing Team started with Rhonda Smith and Scott Sanchez back in the 80's. Rhonda sold her World Class School, The Rhonda Smith Windsurfing Center, to JaK Wilberscheid, Master Instructor Trainer who later changed the name to Hood River WaterPlay. JaK then took over and recreated the Juniors racing to grow it and eventually put a number of youth on the competitive circuit for TEAM USA.

Hood River Oregon hosts various racing events such as The Nationals, The Worlds Formula, and The famous Gorge Cup Series throughout the windsurfing season each year. Hood River IS North America's Mecca for windsurfing. Anyone can jump into any of the fun Gorge Cup races nearly any weekend throughout the summer. Come join the fun!
